Curly St. James 2016

$125.00

2016 was an extraordinary vintage in the Napa Valley due in part to low-yielding vines, which lead to beautifully concentrated flavors, especially in the high-elevation vineyards of Spring Mountain. Already aged for 7 years, the wine is only at the beginning of its optimal drinking window and will continue to improve for decades to come.

The 2016 Curly St. James is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Cabernet Franc, grown on the steep volcanic slopes of the Mayacamas mountains. The Cabernet Sauvignon’s concentrated dark red cherries and expressive blackberry accents complement the Cabernet Franc’s rich, succulent chocolate mocha creaminess and wild berries. The structure of the midpalate leads to a dense matrix of suave tannins and a lingering vivacity that only a mountain wine can yield.
